So the major city I am in is Santa Fe and the Province is Santa Fe. Santa Fe is a city of about 600,000 people you should be able to find it on a map especially a map of Argentina. I wish I could see the ducks right now when I get of the mission I am totally buying season tickets. It is one of the things I miss. We should go to McDonalds this transfer along with Wal-mart. Oh yes! There is a Wal-mart here you better believe it I am so excited I can’t wait to go but it will probably be a little later in the transfer. so we have some really good investigators one guy his wife got married 4 months ago and we have been teaching him and it looks like he will get baptized soon and there are a couple more but he stands out in my mind right now his name is Juan. It is also nice we live literally right next to the church it is really nice. It is also a ward and we have lunch appointments every day, lunch because lunch here is like dinner in the states so here they do lunch and it is really nice to have lunch app. with members it is a nice break from cooking lunch dinner and breakfast for the past 6 months. The people here are pretty good they are just as receptive as my last area. So next month Elder Bednar is coming to Argentina and he is coming to the mission and we will be able to go and we are having a conference with him and we will be able to ask a question which is really cool. Also the temple in Argentina is closing for 2 years for updates so when I go home it will be closed so I won’t be able to go to the Temple at the end of my mission. But it happens. So Halloween should be fun it is a Saturday which makes it easier. Well I guess I will let you go I love you guys and tell everyone that I love them and I will write next week.

So how is it going? I know I’m writing on a Monday because today is p-day because Wednesday is zone conference. But next week it will be Wednesday as normal. So how is the family? Its cool here I am now in Santa Fe North it’s a relatively large city like supposedly it’s about 600,000 people. So it’s pretty cool. It has Wal-mart and McDonalds what else do you need? Our area is smaller than Federal which is nice and here it’s a Ward with anywhere from 70 to 100 people on Sundays. My comp is Latin and my Spanish has started to take off and it’s only going to get better now. So when I come home I will be fluent. They have some cool members and it’s nice they do a lot of activities and also here nobody washes our clothes so I have to wash all my clothes by hand. But it’s all good. Who needs a washer and dryer anyways? We live about 30 blocks from the District Leader and his comp and we hang out p-days. There is definitely a lot more people here. The other day we taught this guy and his son and the son is like 35 and the dad was old and we had just finished and a friend of theirs showed up and he was a drug dealer he showed us his marijuana and he was also drunk it was a little uncomfortable. But we got a good contact from another friend who lost his wife and has 3 kids and it’s a different guy and he was really cool he wants to learn more about the gospel. Also here we have lunch appointments which are really nice. We only have to cook lunch p-days. This area is really cool also because you can find anything because you’re in the city. The trip here was long and lonely I had to travel alone but it’s allowed by the president because there was nobody in my area coming here also and they don’t have money to pay for a bunch of extra bus trips. But it was good. Tuesday night we went to Concordia and spent the night then I left at 6:45 in the morning to Parana and from their changed buses to Santa Fe. I got to go thru the tunnel under the river to Santa Fe. It was pretty cool but by the time you came out the other side it smelled like gas fumes bad. It was fun though and it was nice to have some alone time to reflect and to ponder and meditate the mission so far and to relax the mind. Also I'm in the highest baptizing part of the mission this zone baptizes the most. This area should be fun. So how is the weather? Here it’s starting to get hot also this is the hottest part of the mission. How are the ducks doing? They winning and what are they ranked. Just think I almost have 8 months in the mission. In 65-66 days I get to call home that will be nice to talk to you all. Well I guess I will let you go and tell mom and dad hi and tell them I will write next week but make sure and send your emails in time so I can read them by noon my time in Argentina. Well tell all that I love them and I love you and will write you all next week.

So how is it going? It’s going good here. Its hot and its only spring. So I am going to Santa Fe North it’s my new area. The city is called pompeya and it should be nice new people. So last night I had dinner with Veronica and her family and it was nice to see that family one last time. also this week we got the zone leaders at their own joke. so that pench has 4 elders in it and 2 are in my district and they called and made it sound like a normal person who didn’t know who we were and told us he found the phone in a cab. So we shut our phone off and called them back 30 min. later and they thought it was funny ha-ha. Then we said well we called Elder Hanson in the offices and told him your cell phone got stolen and he is going to turn it off and change the number and so they got done with us and they actually called Elder Hanson and he was like what are you talking about nobody has talked to me about this. so it was pretty funny we got them good. Also we got 1 new investigator and she was pretty cool so we will see how it goes she’s Adventist. But I guess I will let you go tell everybody I love them and I will write you from my new area next week.

The internet is working which is nice so how is the family going mom said it snowed in Bend. Here it’s been hot like three days ago it was 100% humidity and it felt like 90 outside and so it’s starting to get hot down here. So the last two weeks were good we went to general conference and it was good it’s always nice to hear from the Apostles and Prophet. So this Saturday is the baptism and it should be really good I can’t wait for it. So it’s been good last week was good we been teaching and working as always. This week we been working we haven’t got any new investigators but were trying. This past week we had divisions with the zone leaders and it was fun I went with elder Kirk and we taught a person by The Uruguay River which was cool it was my second time going to the river and its cool because on the other side is a completely different country. So next week is transfers so I will have p-day on Tuesday so make sure you write before Tuesday. So I don’t know if I will go or not but I will find out in 6 days it is really amazing how fast the time has been going. It’s crazy. Yesterday in district meeting we went over talking to everyone and it was good it’s fun to have district meeting and to learn more things. Well not a whole lot but it’s been good today. I'm going to take some more pictures and will have them for you next week. Well I guess I will let you go tell everyone I love them and I will talk to you all next week.

It’s good here. Thursday it flooded the river that goes thru town because of the rain but it all went away. Monday the 21st was the first day of spring here. All the kids here get the day off from school. Monday we had divisions with the zone leaders and it went really good I went with Elder Kirk this time and it went really good. We did it in their area in Concordia and it was fun to see their members and investigators. Next week we have a baptism so I’m really excited. She is ready all she needs is the baptism interview next week. Other than that we have been doing contacts and getting references from members to find new investigators and find and bring people to the gospel. Also district meeting yesterday was good we watched Together Forever and how we could apply it to our investigators and members and the importance of it. well not a lot this week but just so you guys don’t freak out I’m eating and I’m eating healthy I’m just losing all the fat because I’m exercising everyday and walking everywhere. We probably walk right around 10 miles a day or more and yes I lost more weight I’m now around 167 pounds now I’ve lost right around 23-24 kilos but I look good and feel good and I eat every day so there is nothing wrong I’m just getting healthy. So anyways don’t worry I am feeling really good and you are all jealous because I have always been the skinny one anyways I love you all and will talk to you all next week tell everybody I love them.

Here are some pics of me I look great. And also my comp he's the one with glasses. In the one with one of the assistants and there is a pic of just him and me.

09/16/09

So how was the trip to bend? Things are going really good here. Last week we had divisions with the Assistants to the President and it was really good we got a lot of contacts and new investigators and programs. I went with Elder Ortiz from Columbia and it was really cool. So you know how I told you how Augustine’s dad didn’t want her to get baptized well I went with Elder Ortiz to that family and took a baptism registry and he signed the sheet and she is getting baptized the 3rd of October I was so excited the work with that family finally paid off. Then the next day we had zone conference so we got a ride with the assistants and it was a good conference. You always learn a lot of good stuff like this one was about having the Spirit and focusing on your investigators. We also had district meeting which went good and afterward my comp and I went to carre which is a big shopping center and they have American stuff so we bought some really good food my comp is a really good cook. Also in the pinch we have had a lot of speakers so we hooked it all up and every room has two speakers the kitchen the two bed rooms and the bathroom and we have two subwoofers it sounds amazing. But anyway I am doing really good. You know when I got here I was 98 kilos I am now 77kilos I have lost 21kilos now. Which means when I was in the mission home when I got here I was 213 pounds and now I'm 170 pounds I have lost 43 pounds. I had to make a new notch in my belt. I have lost right around 6-7 inches so I have lost a ton its crazy to think about but when I come home you guys are not going to recognize me. Well I guess I will let you go for now and will write you next week also I will send pics next week. Tell everyone I love them.

09/09/09

This was a good week. Elder Boyce went to the south part of the mission and my new comp is Elder Petersen and he is really cool. He's 6'5! He is really tall. So when we went to Concordia with my old comp we went to the baptism the zone leaders had and it was pretty cool. And I felt really sick so I drank boldo it’s a type of tea but its and all natural herbal tea and its approved to drink. so I drank that and I still felt sick like I wanted to throw up but didn’t and Elder Boyce left and that night and I woke up in the morning and I had a killer pain in my lower back and upper legs and waist it was growing pains so I’m going to come home skinny and taller you guys aren’t even going to recognize me in the airport. That I felt sick it took a couple of days to pass but I’m good as new now. So this is my 4th transfer here in federal I will be here for 5 and a half months but its cool. Tonight and tomorrow we have divisions with the assistants to the president and Friday is zone conference so it should be cool and fun. It’s weird to think that I have almost knocked on all the doors of all the houses in this area. This is a town of about 24,000 people and I know this town better than Bend its crazy I’ve been down every street. I don’t think I will ever forget this area. So it’s been good I got a lot of the street names memorized and I’m getting my comp affiliated with the area and I’m hoping to get at least 3 more baptisms and all we need is the people to go to church so it will be good. This week we went by some in-active families houses. The branch is really starting to do home and visiting teaching which is a huge key to getting and keeping people active in the church. The family Borda has 3 kids that can get baptized and the kids want to get baptized they just have to go to church. We went by them yesterday and it went good. That is really the only family right now. Right now we are really working on getting investigators basically finding people by references from members and contacting. it’s funny we have an hour of personal study every day and I always read the scriptures and I finished the triple a while ago and I’ve been reading the New Testament and I’m in Acts right now. It’s amazing how much you learn and how much you learn about the people and how they haven’t changed that much when it comes to hard heartedness. And how quick people are to forget or how people just don’t understand. Mind you nobody is perfect but all God asks is that we constantly try to live better and constantly pray. All we have to do is ask for help and he will help us. It’s amazing how easy it is to change when you want to change. Just read the first part of the New Testament with the Apostles and how they were so slow to understand the parables that Jesus taught and how a lot of people today don’t understand them without the scriptures explaining them. But if you pay attention you understand it. Just like I have really started to understand the Temple and the symbolism in them but it is all in the scriptures and if you read it close and slow you see it right there. Sometimes it takes a couple of times reading it but its right there. It has been really hard in my mind lately I really want to be a temple worker even if it’s in Portland it would be worth the 3hr drive each way once a week just for the learning and understanding you gain. My ultimate goal is to live close to a temple when I get home I really want to go to the Temple every day. and I know it is possible. People say it’s not possible but it is if you live close to one. I have really learned a lot on my mission so far not just about the gospel but the importance of a Ward or Branch mission plan and Ward or Branch mission leaders etc. It is all so important and all of it working together is even more important and how it is really important to have real faith and the willingness to act on that faith is even more important and how you should never ever let a somebody impede you from eternal salvation even if you don’t like a bishop or stake president or anyone else. It doesn’t matter who they are you just need to love them like Christ would and help them and pray for them all you can like the scriptures say. And don’t let a enemy impede you either like the scriptures say love they enemy and pray for them. Sometimes I don’t think the members really understand missionary work and how it is in all aspects of the church- home teaching, visiting teaching, etc. and the importance of a mission leader in your branch or ward they are the biggest part of a ward because they usually know the ward and the they are a huge key to activating and finding people for the church. I just hope to continue serving in the church after my mission because I have learned a ton. And the trick is to never take it for granted. Well I better go I love you all and tell everybody I love them and I will talk to you next week. Love Elder Herold

Sept. 01.09

How is it going? I'm writing you earlier than normal but today is p-day because tomorrow is transfers and I’m going to stay here in Federal for another transfer and my companion is being transferred to a different city to be a zone leader. So I will have a new companion tomorrow. This was a good week really short not a lot really happened. I have a deal with a members mom(veronica's mom) who isn’t a member and I told her mom that my brownies were better because she cooks and sells pastries and so she said she would listen if I made her those brownies so I made them and they were really good she liked them so now she has to let us teach her. We also gave a blessing to an inactive member’s daughter who has the same sickness her brother just died from and it was a really good blessing. We are also teaching Veronica's daughter who is 8 and she wants to get baptized but it doesn’t count because her mom is a member but her son who is 11 wants to get baptized with her and that’s really cool. So hopefully this will be a good transfer and I’m sure it will be. So I will give you my testimony I promised. I know the church is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that Thomas S. Monson is the prophet today. That Jesus Christ lives and is the Son of God. That he knows what his missionaries need and he provides for them. In the name of Jesus Christ amen. Well I really don’t have anything else to talk about or say just that I love you all and I will write you all next week.

Aug. 26. 09

So how are things going? This was a really good week. The time is really going by faster than I can believe because in a little less than 3 months I will be calling home again. We got an investigator this week his name is Rafael and it was really nice to talk to him. he has a niece that’s a member but in- active but he wants to listen to our message and he wants to learn more. We have a member that is so awesome her name is Veronica and she is the same age as you and has a son and daughter. Well she always has references and her mom makes facturas which is argentine version of dough nuts and a ton of other things like that so every time we go over there she always has treats. We have even had lunch with Veronica and her family. Also veronica and her mom make amazing pies and cakes and the other night she had a cheese cake that she owed us from a bet and she also gave us asado to go with it which is argentine BBQ which is amazing. Veronica is also the primary president and they had an activity which was really good. A ton of kids came and we also got some references from the activity. Yesterday was our last district meeting for the transfer and it went really well then we did divisions with the zone leaders which was fun. I went with elder Aguilera and it was fun to see their investigators they have some really good investigators and we stayed for today since its p-day and we played soccer which is really fun. It’s a pretty relaxing day it’s hot again its right around 26-28 degrees Celsius which is nice and warm. It really was a really chill week. well I really don't have anything else well I guess I will write you next week and we’ll see if I’m getting transferred or not. Well I love you all and tell everyone I love them.

Aug. 19. 09

Hola. Things are going good here not really a whole lot happened last week or the first part of this week. No cool or funny stories. Well Monday and Tuesday this week we got 5 new investigators, a dad and daughter who talked with the missionaries before so will see how it goes we challenged them to be baptized at the end of September. we’re starting to program everybody in the first lesson to see if the they or not my comp and I were reading a story about the missionaries years ago and how the missionaries along time ago in the church when they could baptize the same day but they in a sense would challenge the people on the spot to be baptized and that’s how the older missionaries had so much success. We also taught a husband and wife and they are really Catholic and they actually know what they believe which is kind of nice and they accepted the challenge to be baptized at the end of September also. The last person is a lady who is a catiquesta which is a catholic school teacher. She knows what she believes and has a really good knowledge of the catholic beliefs and she also accepted the challenge to be baptized the end of September. So we’ll see how it goes. Also the weather here has been weird as well this past week it got into the 80´s and the 90´s one day then it went back down to normal like the 40´s with misty fog and it feels freezing not 40´s but that’s because its humid. We also had an asado last week with a member. That’s an argentine BBQ. They do it over an actual fire outside it was really good the BBQ here is amazing the meat is just so tender it is so good. Also my comp saw a carpincu for the first time it’s a type of animal and I don’t know if I spelled it right but it’s about the size of a pig adult pig and it looks like a hamster so it’s a giant hamster. The people raise them for food and I guess it’s supposed to be really good but their going extinct so the people aren´t allowed to hunt them anymore but people raise them and breed them. Well that was my week not a whole lot happened well I guess I will talk to you next week I love you all and tell everyone I love them.

Aug. 12. 09

So how is everybody doing with being sick? Things this week were good nothing really happened besides 3 baptisms. The parents and oldest daughter in the familia franco got baptized and I got the privilege to baptize them. It was really cool and my comp and I made brownies for afterward. There were a couple of cakes as well and it went really well. Hopefully we will have a couple more the 29th of this month. We also got to go to their wedding in the Registro Civil it’s the name for the place they do it. And when they walked outside afterwards we followed Argentine tradition by throwing rice. I got it on video but I’m not going to send pictures this week because the computers are going way to slow. The wedding was pretty cool I guess it would be the same in the states in the court house there were two witnesses and they read whatever it is they read like the legal stuff and your married. It was fun. We also went on divisions with the other elders in our district and it was fun we spent the day in Concordia because my companion had to do a baptism interview. It was fun I got to meet some of the families they are teaching. So we have these vitamins that the president’s wife gave all the missionaries and they have like cabbage and spinach and things like that in with the vitamins and they have been giving all the other elders gas. Fun!!!!
The water gets turned off certain days and weeks but you don’t know when because they clean the tanks kind of like the big one in Florence but they turn the water off and they rotate between barrios or neighborhoods. But oh well it happens right. Oh also it doesn’t matter when you send the package because it gets sent to the mission home and I will get it at a zone conference. Also on the package when you write the amount its worth in American dollars don’t put a big amount on it since I have to pay a tax on that amount. It’s just these things don’t exist here. They don’t even have root beer because it tastes like a medicine they have so the people think it’s gross. Oh you could send some Kool aid packets. and anything else you think would be good sorry I’m talking about this again but I thought of a few more things the other day but just these things also and nothing else. Oh teriyaki sauce promise that’s it. So has it been hot there. The last couple of weeks it’s been getting warmer and warmer and yesterday and today it’s been hot. So I think were in spring and their spring is a little bit hotter than our spring. And then it will be summer I guess it gets in the high 38 degrees Celsius to the mid 40s which is from high 90s to like 110. So the summers here are defiantly hotter than the states. Well I love you all and you all be good and stay out of trouble.
Love you all Elder Herold.

Aug. 5. 2009
Hola How is everybody? So things are good here. Yesterday was zone conference and it was good we talked about committing more people to baptism and speaking to the people more. Also my companion got sick later on in the night and we decided to stay in Concordia and good thing we did because he threw up and it would have happened on the collectivo(bus). I saw the whole thing he woke up from sleeping at like 10 at night and we were all just hanging’ out and he asked if the box next to me was empty and I said “No there’s Books of Mormon in it so he got up and just started to throw up and it got everywhere. It’s really the only pench(apartment) beside the mission home with carpet and it was really funny. Also this week I rolled my ankle jumping across a sana or a open sewer but I´m doing good now and I didn’t land in it though. Also this week one night we had hot chocolate when we came back and we made it and drank pretty much all of it and we started to look and these black floaters that had been in their the whole time and they were flies or nats they must have gotten into the coco mix. Yum. Well that was the interesting stuff. This Saturday we are going to be baptizing 3 people which will be really cool. It´s the family Franco the parents are getting married Friday and the oldest daughter is going to get baptized with them the rest of the family is already members. Also we are teaching this guy Diego and his girlfriend I guess. They are not married and I guess they found each other in Buenos Aires and he´s 20 and she is like 25 or 26 and there are a lot of problems. They were all living in his mom’s house then they were building a house or living with the grandma. But the broke up and she has nothing and the only place she could go was his moms house. She also has 5 kids and they are not his from a previous relationship well they want to get baptized both of them and they were together the other day when we taught them so were not sure if they are going to stay together. But they both want to change and get baptized. The other day we taught them and we used the November 2007 General conference Liahona. I found a talk in the back it was the talk President Faust had prepared but he could never give the talk because he died before that general conference. But the talk was about change and wanting to change habits from cursing to drugs and the talk was perfect for them we pretty much shared the whole talk and I didn’t know how it was going to go because Diego seems like he would get stand offish or think it was directed all at him but it went amazing and you could feel the Spirit by the end and you could see the want to change in their eyes. But there is a lot of problems so we committed them to read the Book of Mormon at least one verse a day and to start and end with a prayer. So will see how it goes. We also have a family with a possible 14+ baptisms but the Dad won’t give permission. But he did listen to us the other day so we are preparing a lesson that will be really good and highly spiritual. So we started a 40 day fast but not of food. A fast to stop anything that drives or pokes at the spirit and so we made a list of all the things to help us also to have the spirit more. So we will be prepared especially for that lesson. The dad with all those kids is Catholic and is set in tradition. It´s hard but were not going to give up. Not this early anyways. So we have some good work for this transfer there should also be some more baptisms at the end of the transfer also.
Well since I’m all most out of time tell mom and dad and the rest of the family I love them and I love you guys to and I will talk to you all next week. Love Elder Herold

July. 29.09

Hola? Things are great here my companion and I got the mission standards again and it is only the first week of transfers. If we get it 3 weeks in a row we get dinner with the Mission President. This week went by really good. We finally got what we needed to have hot water for our shower. See hot water heaters don´t exist here neither do dryers so we had to buy a shower head that heats the water its electric. It has 3 settings and it is really nice. We are going to have 3 baptisms this next Saturday - The Franco family. We are baptizing the mom, dad and daughter which is really cool. We are teaching a member’s family. This member and her husband and kids are members but her parents and siblings aren’t. We have to get the dad (grandpa) to change his mind and let them get baptized because he doesn’t want them to get baptized so we are going to talk to him Sunday. It will be our first time talking to him. The family has had some problems the dad (grandpa) has received a couple of threats so we are hoping we can give some good examples of how we can help his family be together forever. If he changes his mind it would be more than 14 baptisms so we are really hoping it will go well. Also we have to wash our own garments because there is nobody here who has been to the temple, since they are sacred we have to wash them ourselves. Well last week I washed out the last pair in the bucket to dry. Now I have had garments in there for about a week in the water with soap and when I need clean garments I rinse them out. Well I dumped out the water and in the bottom of the bucket there was a dead mouse. And I don´t know how long it was in there for and so it was funny and nasty at the same time. So about 2 weeks ago I finished the triple so I started the New Testament and I’m already in Luke. It´s pretty sweet because I have learned a ton. The weather during has been really cold at night and in the morning. But the day is really warm. The work has been going really strong here the people are awesome. The pictures are as follows: the one with the river was the last zone activity the name of the river is rio or river paraná that is also when we visited the castle it was built in 1888 and that’s all I know they didn’t really have info on it. Also the picture in front of the fireplace with my comp was in the old pench we had an asado that’s how or what they call a BBQ. The other is with suit pants those are the suit pants I got from sister Thayne and when I got them they fit perfect now they are huge. I´m going to have to get a new belt again soon. I have to say I am really having a good time here in the mission I have learned so much that I know I wouldn’t have learned unless I was on my mission. My comp is really good he works really hard and he has helped me a lot with the language. Well I better go. I love you all. Tell everybody I love them talk to you all next week.

July. 21.09

So how are things going? Things are going good here today is the p-day before transfers and we found out this morning if anybody was going to be transferred and me and my comp are staying in Federal for another transfer. So this Sunday I have to give a talk in church on faith in Jesus Christ. Also this week after our last appointment in the night failed us we went contacting in an area we have always talked about contacting and we found a member who is active but we haven’t seen in awhile and it turns out her mom was talking how the missionaries hadn’t come by for awhile and how we couldn’t have come by at a better moment because 2 of her nieces wanted a blessing so she was really happy to see us because she didn’t know what to do. We should have a baptism the 8th of august. It´s raining really hard today and when it rains the dirt streets turn to mud. Also there is nobody out when it rains only a few places are open. Well that was my week and I will talk to you all next week.

July 15. 09

So everything is going really good here. The language is really coming along. We might have a baptism this Saturday so I´m really excited. It´s really amazing how fast this transfer has gone by because next Tuesday is p-day and Wednesday is transfers and I really don’t know where the time has gone it is going by way to fast. On August 25th it will be 6 months on my mission and I don’t know where the time has gone. So we haven’t had church for 2 weeks but this Sunday we will have church which is really nice. I´m having an amazing time here. I really do like it. The weather has been cold but we are staying warm. So how are things in the states? How is everybody doing? Well I guess I will talk to you all next week.

July 8. 09

So this past week was good. We are in our new house and its really nice its only two years old. Last night I had ice cream for the first time in Argentina and it was really good. The weather here has been really warm. Not a whole lot happing here. We will be having two baptisms in the next few weeks so that should be really fun. So how are things going there? I forgot to say I would like to have the car but if it’s going to be a burden for them tell them not to worry about it. So in Argentina right now everything is almost closed all schools, government offices, and no church is allowed to have meetings in the church and all gathering places like or if you are in a large group its illegal because of the swine flu in Argentina. Last week the mission president had all missionaries buy a two week supply of food in case the stores close. So we have been doing sacrament in people’s houses. Last Friday we had an illegal zone conference because big groups of people aren’t allowed to meet together. It’s really interesting here right now. But don’t worry everything is okay don’t freak out the work is still continuing without interruption. How are things in the states it would be nice if you sent me news again. The ice cream here is really good. Today we had a zone activity and we went to the Uruguay River right next to Concordia and I put my hands in the water it was pretty cool. Then we went to an old castle near their and went around in it, it was really cool then we played soccer. It was fun. What new movies have come out since I’ve been gone you got to keep a list for me. So just write me next week and tell me how things are going. Well I love you guys be safe and good and I will write next week love you all tell everybody I love them. cháo.

Hola? How are things in the states, things here our great? We have 2 baptisms scheduled for the 11th of July so that will be pretty cool. The weather here has been interesting we have had several days this past week that have been really warm. Also all the schools in Argentina closed for 1 month because of the swine flu. So there are tons of kids out it’s like a huge unexpected vacation for the kids here, but hopefully this will help the work because there will be a lot of people out.
So things are good here we just moved into our new pench today that is why I’m writing so late. The new pench is really nice, haven’t had much chance to work this week because we have been moving and dealing with getting electricity in the new pench and getting the contract finalized. Getting electricity we have to have 2 copies of i.d. and 2 copies for authorization to sign for the electricity and a copy of the contract and somebody to check the box at the house. It is not like the States it was really annoying because of the hoops you have to jump through. But it’s all good we have electricity. Thanks for the comments on the news. Well I guess I’ll let you go I have been taking pics and my comp is really good we follow the rules and do what were supposed to do. Well tell mom and dad and everyone hi for me I love you all.

Hola como esta? It´s going really good here, my new companion is really good. We had divisions Monday and I stayed and worked with Elder Menateau and we got 20 contacts in 2 hrs, which was really good. The weather here has been interesting we are literally in the middle of winter and it was hot enough to go out in just our white shirts. But now it’s back to cold in the morning and night and warm in the afternoon. Thanks for the stuff about the news it nice to see what is happening because you are really removed from the news here. Hopefully dad gets that job because it’s pretty necessary. After seeing how the people do it here. The people here work one or two days a week in odd jobs and make just enough to get by and you look at them and wonder why. It´s possible in Argentina to work very little to get by but not in the states it´s necessary to have a job. so keep those news things coming that was really nice. So how is everybody’s reading in the Book of Mormon going.
I had to buy a new belt because mine are too big. I´m also going to have to get all of my suit pants altered because when I tighten my belt they majorly bunch up. My cloths like my jeans I can go swimming in them. By the time I call you all for Christmas I will already have a six pack. What do you have to say to that!!!!!!!!!! Well I gotta go I love you guys and I´ll talk to you all next week.

Hola. This was a good week we had transfers and my new comp. is Elder Boice he´s from California and he is really cool. We have 7 people this transfer with a date to get baptized which is really awesome and we already have 3 for the next transfer. The work is really coming along here in Argentina. The weather has been decent some days our warm some are cold but the nights our always cold but we turn the heater on and it almost gets to hot but it’s better than being cold. Also it’s been really fun here I´m really enjoying it here.
I got your photo´s they were really nice. So what is everybody up to? Yesterday night we went by this kid Facundo who is active/inactive and we were teaching him and his mom and three siblings when the mom’s brother and friend walked in drunk. I never seen them before but they started talking to us and one squatted down and a gun fell out if his pocket and the other guy picked it up and my comp. didn’t even notice because if you weren’t paying attention you have missed it. He didn’t know I saw it but then he started asking if god would forgive him for fornicating and robbing people for food but he said he’s never killed anyone. It was really weird and the mom of Facundo didn’t want him there and you could tell she was really uncomfortable. Then they said they wanted to leave with us and my comp said no and we left and got out of their and went back to the pench because it was like 9:15 and we have to be back by 9:30. It was really weird and I defiantly wasn’t comfortable but it was all good we got back to the pench and everything was good. So what’s in the news I know you’re not the person to ask but anything is good. Also tell dad happy father’s day for me. And I tell mom happy b-day next week in my letter. But everything is going good and I guess I will write next week. So is dad looking for work? How are mom and dad doing? You could just go online and copy and paste things that happen during the week in the news and send them to me in an attachment or whatever works. Well I guess I will go now tell everybody I love them and I will talk to you all next week. Also have dad relay that story to Nathan for me because I don’t have time to write it again. Well anyways talk to you next week. Love, Elder Herold

HOLA!

How is everything going there in the states? This week was awesome I had a Baptism, my comp baptized him; his name is martin and he is 8 years old. Also it has been really cold here last week I had to wear my coat, hat and gloves. Also my comp and I forgot we had a fire place so we have been having a fire every night to keep us warm. This week also when I was in my personal study I was reading in Doctrine and Covenants and I paused to contemplate my reading and the Spirit said to me that there is no better place I could be right now in my life. This week was really good. You are going to wonder way you’re getting these Tuesday but its transfers and I´m staying in federal for another transfer and I´m getting a new comp Elder Boice. So I´m in Concordia right now also p-day is going to be on Wednesday for now on so I´ll write you all on Wednesday. This week was pretty good. It has been pretty cold here but today was nice. Interviews were really good. Well I have to go now tell mom and dad I love them and I love you guys too.

Hello everybody!

How is it going? I got to do a baptism this past week which was really cool. Her name is Vanessa and she is 15 and it was really awesome. Also were going to have another baptism this Saturday for an 8 year boy named martin. Only his brother is a member but we’re working with the parents so it’s going really good here. It has also been really cold this week with the foggy drizzle like on the coast, also so rainy and it’s the humid cold so it feels really cold but I’m staying warm. Well I got to go talk to you all next week. Sorry I didn´t write last week we had to go to different internet cafe because it was a holiday and none of the computers here are fast so I could only write the mission president. Thanks for the card I did get the one from mom and dad. Tell Gillis happy b-day for me. You thought I’d forget didn´t you. Ha- I didn´t. So anything new back home on the news or anything. It’s been fun here. I’m in Concordia right now because tomorrow is interviews with the pres. and we had a zone activity and we watched kung fu panda in Spanish with English subtitles it was still really funny. Well I better go I love you all and I’m doing well.

Hello everybody

My mission is going really well. So it’s about summer huh. The weather is changing to winter here and the nights are getting colder. It has been really cold here at night we have been using the heater but the days are nice today its really humid it feels like 75 but you sweat really bad when you’re out side I hope it starts to get cold. I’ve been working hard were hoping for like 6 or more baptisms this transfer and it looks like we’re going to do it. We had 7 investigators in church and we have a baptism on Saturday. We are also waiting for 2 families’ parents to get married and will have 4 more baptisms it’s really exciting. Well I will talk to you all next week.
The other night I was crossing one of the sewer ditches and I thought I cleared it but my right foot sunk all the way in so when I got back to the pench(apartment) I had to wash my foot and my shoe I had to walk with a wet foot for like two hours it was kind of funny my comp just laughed at me. I only got 1 pic. But I will get more this week. It’s out the pench window. So how is the BofM(Book of Mormon) reading going for everybody. I will talk to you guys next week love you all.

This weeks letter is quite short but I think because we just talked to Clinton for Mother's Day he wasn't really sure what to say. During our talk on Mother's Day he sounded really good and super happy. He said that the town he is in~ Federal is about 2 miles wide by 2 miles long. He has a member from the Branch that does his laundry for him and his companion. He also said that the members are really nice and really willing to give and help the missionaries. They do almost all their own cooking and don't have many meals with the members since there are so few, just about 30 members and 10 investigators. He did say that he doesn't want packages because you have to declare the amount of $$$ in the package then he has to pay half that amount when it comes to him. His email is now different and this is what he will be using the rest of his mission. Herold.c.n@myldsmail.net He sounds really good and happy so that is great comfort to us that he is doing well. He is getting attacked by the mosquito's at night so he is working on getting a net. He also said that they have about a 5 gallon bucket that hangs in there shower that they have to boil water for every morning for their showers. It is a very poor area that he is in and most people don't have much. They live with many people in their small concrete houses. It has been very humbling for him and he has felt very humbled by the people that have been so generous to him and his companion even though these people have nothing. He talked about how they have so many small different cars that we don't have in the States. He also has seen 5 people on ONE moped!!! And 4 people on ONE pedal bike!! They are working with one family that is almost ready to go to the Temple to be sealed and the trip will cost them about 1000 peso's~something that will take them a very long time to attain but they have faith that they will be blessed with the promises of eternal family they will receive when they travel to Buenos Aires. That's enough from me enjoy Clinton's short but interesting letter!!

Hello everybody~

How are you? I'm having a ton of fun here in Federal. We had 7 investigators in church and 19 other lessons taught. The people are nice and I've been working hard. My feet have been sore but their getting better. Last night when I got home I was charging my camera battery and the adapter hangs out of the plug a little ways and it came loose and I didn't know and I went to adjust it and I got electrocuted with 240-260 volts because they run the higher voltage here and it took a second to realize I was getting shocked and a second to move my hand I got shocked for like 3 seconds and it kind of hurt. Well everything is good so I'll talk to everyone next week.

May 04. 09

hello everybody

How are things going in the states? I'm having a lot of fun here in Argentina. I'm in my first area. I'm in the state or province Entre Rios and the name of the town is Federal and it's about 12,000 people. My Spanish is coming I'm kind of understanding the people. My companions name is Elder Scott and he is a really cool companion. The food here is actually really good. The people here are amazing. The testimony and faith of the members is amazing. The houses here are made out of concrete or brick with concrete floors with a kitchen and one or two bedrooms and a bathroom. They are really small their houses are about the size of an apartment. Their is only a couple of paved streets in federal the rest our gravel. But this place is amazing and so are the people. Our p-day is on Monday. I have a few pictures for you one is our district in the m.t.c., one is the Buenos Aires Temple, one you will have to zoom in the the on were i took the picture out side the window behind us there is a motor cycle diving by the median, the people here drive crazy and there is one out the front window it shows a huge highway that is about 10 lanes on each side of the road it was pretty crazy. I'm having a lot of fun here. The houses are like the size of our garage and their concrete floors with concrete or brick walls. The stoves here are gas and you have to get new tanks when they run out like the BBQ. It's pretty cool the fridges are only as tall as the top of my chest and about a 3rd skinnier than ours. The people here though are awesome they are really nice and they have 10 times as much faith as the people in America. We have like 6 baptisms in the like next 6 weeks if the people go to church and keep their commitments. We had 40 people at church its really small its only a branch. but i am having a ton of fun. We walk everywhere on our area. We are the only missionaries within 2 hrs. of other missionaries. Well I got to go I have to write the miss. pres. I will call in 6 days for mothers day I love you all and talk to you soon.

Off to Rosario, Argentina!!!

We got to speak to Clinton today on his layovers to Argentina. He called from Salt Lake City and from Atlanta. He sounds great and he is so excited to get out to Argentina and start working!! He was flying down with 11 other guys and 6 of them were going to the same mission as him. My parents were very relieved that he would be traveling with a group.

I love my brother and I have to say that being in the MTC has brought a whole new meaning to the Gospel to him in his life. He is now a KNOW IT ALL!! HA! Not that he didn't already know it all before! :)

He has challenged us as a family to read the Book of Mormon completely through before his call in December for Christmas he decided it wouldn't be fair to do it by Mother's Day. He sounds ready to Preach the Gospel and his Testimony is strong. He bared his Testimony in Spanish to us and well since none of us understood he at least sounded like the language was going well for him.

He was very excited to eat at Burger King in the airport although it didn't sit with him too well since he hasn't eaten any fast food in 9 weeks.

He had alot to say and he was very positive. It was certainly great to hear his voice and we were all very selfishly sad when it was time to hang up. Please continue to keep him in your prayers and thank you for your continued support. I will continue to keep you updated and post his letters when I can.

Sis~

So whats up with grandpa? So the next time I write you will be from Argentina. So I will call you next week. I leave Salt Lake at 11:30 AM and arrive at Atlanta at 5:06 PM. So you will have to calculate the time difference. I leave Atlanta at 8:35 PM, and I won't be able to call you when I get to Argentina because I won't have time. So how are things at home? I didn't really have a whole lot to say on this letter so I'm trying to think. What are mom and dad up to? Are they behaving themselves? lol. I don't know what else to say...hmm...yep, my head is blank. I guess I'll talk to you Monday when I call. I love you! Talk to you Monday!

Sis~

So how is it going? General conference was awesome. It was the first time that I actually watched all the sessions and I think it would be really important for you to watch all the sessions. Several talks talked about how they lost children and I feel the same principles apply to your miscarriages that those two you lost will be waiting in the celestial kingdom for you, so you need to live the best you can in this life so that you can make it back to them. I really liked Pres. Monson's talk about the lady in WWII lost her husband and four children but persevered in a steadfastness in Christ and prayed to him. Its an awesome testimony builder. I got the book Articles of Faith. It was in good condition. There was no writing in it and no markings it really is in good condition thank you a whole lot. You should read Jesus the Christ and the Articles of Faith they are really amazing I've learned a lot from them so far its amazing. I'm starting to get the language better but i think it will be easier in the field. The last couple of days its been rainy but Mon. and Tues. were like 60-65 degrees. Its going pretty good here. Hows life out west? Anything in the news because we don't get any here. Did you get my last e-mail it would be nice to get some e-mails. Well i don't really have anything else to say so i guess I'll let you go. love you and talk to you soon.

Mar. 26.09

hello sis

How are you? You will hear from me before mom and dad so you will have to call them. Today is Thursday the 26 you should let mom and dad know that they shouldn't send anything about 6 days before I leave or else I wont get it. Thanks for those talks and quotes and words of advice because I needed them your feelings were right. Don't tell mom or dad because I don't want them to worry. I've just been having a hard time with my faith and testimony but my companion is helping me. I've been having a hard time with the language but I've been going to the tutor for help and its helping me but its been good and I'm having fun I'm starting to get my faith back and my testimony is growing. Last Tuesday for our devotional we had Elder L. Tom Perry speak it was really awesome his talk was on the purpose of a companion and working together. The spirit was really strong it was awesome. This week we had Allen Johnston of the 70 his talk was on obedience it was really good. So how have you been? How are the kids doing? Make sure you say hi to mom and dad for me when you go over next week. So far at the MTC I have learned a lot spiritually and the people are good. I'm trying to think. No we don't get to go to General Conference at the conference center.

My district is so freakin amazing!!! Tell mom and dad that I'm doing good and that they don't need to worry about me. I don't need anything major right now, my money situation is pretty good. Try to get me the book "Articles of faith" by Talmage. Shoot! I only got 3 minutes left. So just tell everyone that I love them, and I'll write again next week. Okay, now just send it...

Mar. 29. 09

I'm doing good. It's been fun here and I'm learning a lot of Doctrine. And deep doctrine. How are things at home? How's Nathan doing? Tell him Hi for me. I'm going to try to write him soon,

It's snowing today but it's been kinda cold the last couple days so I knew it was coming. Not a whole lot is happening here. I'm maintaining my weight but I am still working out. The food is just good. Were not allowed to go to the college only the MTC grounds and the Temple. They don't let us do Baptism's for the Dead only the Initiatory and Endowment. I've been taking some pictures but not a whole lot.

I'm good on stuff right now~I just would like the Articles of Faith book by Elder Talmage if you could. So did one of you bear my testimony I gave you? Today was fast Sunday. I'll have to write the Heaps to find out. So Brother Mickleson one of my teachers, Spanish teacher said he weighed about as much as me and came home weighing about 30 pounds lighter. He said just do your exercises every morning but he said you lose a lot of mass no matter what you do. He went to the same mission I am going to. He said it gets anywhere between 110 to 130 degrees in the summer with 100% humidity.

So what's been happening in the world we get no news or anything! It's killing me not know what is going on. Well I guess I'll let you go. I love you guys talk to you soon!

Love Always,

Elder Clinton Herold

Mar. 22. 09

This week has been amazing. On Monday's we have a devotional. Well this week we had Elder L. Tom Perry of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. It was amazing. His wife spoke briefly and then he spoke. When he walked in the Spirit just slapped you in the face~it was so strong. He talked about companions and how our companions are so important. About staying together, supporting each other and the reason why we teach by 2's is because 2 witness's are better than one. It was awesome hearing from an Apostle.

Today we got to attend the Draper Temple Dedication. They just convert the gym
for the meeting and they have bleachers and so on.

I don't really need anything right now. The language is okay and it's hard. Their are so many verb "trees" to memorize. I have been in the call center. I've done call outs to see if people received their video or Bible. There free. This last week though has been really nice like 70's. Yesterday I started to read Jesus the Christ. It's really good and I've been reading the scripture reference in the bottom of the pages and doing scripture chases. I've gone through 100's of scriptures~it's never ending but I've learned a ton of Doctrine it's amazing.

Other than that things are good. Well I'll write again.

Love Always,

Elder Herold

Hello Everyone~

The last couple of days have been great! Last night was our 2nd TRC. That's when we actually teach somebody. Usually their a volunteer but it is the same thing because you don't actually know the person we were supposed to teach. Well just a sec. They give us a scenario before we go in and we were supposed to teach him about Dispensation, Apostasy, and Joseph Smith. But the Spirit was so strong that we needed to teach prayer and that's what we did and we taught about Joseph Smith and it was amazing. The Spirit was super strong. This morning I went to the Temple and it was amazing the Spirit is always so strong and I have been learning even more. I even got some stuff memorized it's amazing.

Hopefully you got my long letter. So how are things in the news. It's been sunny today, and the other day I think it was Monday and Tuesday it snowed about 2-3 inches. But overall I'm having fun. I've lost about 3 pounds so far so that is good. Well I'd better go. I'll talk to you guy's later.

Love Always

Mar. 5.09

Hello Everyone~

My companions name is Elder Eldred and he likes football and basketball. Their is another companionship in our room so there is four of us in here in bunks. Today when we got up there was about an inch of snow. I've been using the electric shaver. Tell Nathan Hi and let him know that I am having a great time. And I've been writing in my journal every night. My companion is from Jerome, Idaho. Our p-day is on Thursdays. I got your letter with the pictures in it today. Well I get three free haircuts at the MTC. and their is dry cleaning here also but I don't know how much it costs but I'll find out.

Today was my first time through the endowment for someone else who died and it was amazing. When I was in the endowment the Spirit testified to me their that this person even before it was done was going to accept this thru me. It was another amazing spiritual moment form the Holy Ghost and how Heavenly Father does these things for us because there is a reason and purpose for it. When I was in there the Spirit was with me so strong that it was hard not to cry. When I was in the Celestial room I opened the scriptures randomly to D&C 84:100-102 and it was amazing like the Spirit wanted to read it. It talks about how Zion was brought down and His people. That the Lord redeemed His people and how the Heaven's smiled. Then I prayed and it was so sincere that it caused my tears to flow. It was an amazing experience. And that I know that if we listen to the Spirit and are worthy there is so much He tells us and so little do we listen. I truly know that God loves me and all of us and that if we listen to the Holy Ghost in worthiness and in righteousness that he can let us know things we never thought we could know. I testify of this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Thanks for letting me know about Kyle Busch's win. It is nice to hear news because we don't get any and barely anything from our teachers. Our first Saturday here was our first gym time so it was nice and since I've had gym times I've been working out. I've been working out with Elder Perez he's in our district and we work out together. It's nice having a workout partner. And I've been losing weight. They have a bookstore here and I get 40% off of the books and missionary supplies and 20% off the other stuff like snacks and drinks and soap, laundry soap~everything you need. Also we had Breakfast at the Temple it's like once a week treat because it costs money but not a whole lot. I got a waffle, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and a ham and cheese omelet and two things of milk for $10. It was a lot better than the food here not that the MTC food is bad it's actually really good but the food at the Temple is better. Right now I am doing laundry and it's free and it's nice having gotten my soap before because I don't have to buy it here. They have a lot of good training tools here also it's really nice. The t.r.c. is where you actually teach people, these are people like students from BYU or less active or active people and sometime they are actual Investigators. For the first four weeks you go there and you teach all the lessons in English then after that it's all in Spanish. But you will teach all the lessons in English first then in Spanish. But it's a great tool that helps a lot being able to teach people not from the MTC that will ask questions about the Church and the Doctrines. They also have a call center or as with call it it's the referral center or r.c. and there you take calls. When a missionary hands out a pass along card there is a 800# on there they can call and we can answer those calls except we will only be able to do it in English a couple of times then it will be in Spanish and you take the call and answer their questions and tell them about the Church and you can send them a Book of Mormon and a video that you can also get I can't remember what it is called. The also tell us to know Preach My Gospel (aka pmg) really well but they want us to teach by the Spirit and teach the lessons when we teach how we want. Like if I was If I was teaching Lesson 1 they tell us no to teach like a check list but to teach it how we feel and how the Spirit tells you to. Which is nice it's not like it used to be. I like how it is now. I have say that it's really nice to hear from you and I am having a lot of fun. Tell sissy how I am doing and Nathan. Well I'd better go for now. I love you guy's and don't forget to bear my testimony on fast Sunday and make sure you give it to President Heap too so he can read it to the Branch. Thank you and I love you! I will talk to you soon.

Love Always

Mar. 4. 09 Testimony

"Today was wonderful and I feel the Spirit so strong right now. Today we had t.r.c. for the first time where actual people from out side the MTC come to be taught a lesson. And you have a scenario they give you, our was they were in the park and we made a contact and greeted them in Spanish and in Spanish we had to invite them to hear more. So we did that we greeted four sister's not from the MTC then we evaluate for 10 minutes in another room then we knock on the door again like we are were meeting them at their house and we teach them lesson 1 from Preach My Gospel. It went really well. The Spirit testified to me when I entered that room that the three sisters that were in there that I knew them like my own sister that I met them before the Earth was created that I was supposed to teach those sisters with my companion that they were supposed to hear this message from us and that they were supposed to be there. And the Spirit testified to me these things and also when I first actually met my District and met them. When I first saw them that I also knew who they were like Brothers. That I was supposed to be here at this specific time with these Elders. That I know thru the Spirit that we agreed to this before we came to this Earth. That those sisters knew that they were supposed to be there for me and my companion to teach. That Heavenly Father knew this and made it happen that the people through their own choices actually made it here. That God loves me and this is what he wanted for me. When I was singing a song the first day I got here at a conference at 3:30p.m. in the opening song second verse the Spirit testified to me this is where I'm supposed to be and I just want to say that this Joy has been wonderful, wonderful to me. That today I remembered my Spanish when my companion didn't that God has put these people in my life for a reason. And I know and bear witness to these things that they are true, that God loves me and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen."

This whole part has been the most wonderful experience I've been having and I want you guy's to know that I love you and I ask that you will bear this testimony to the ward for me and don't not do it because I'll ask and write someone in the ward to see if you did it. This is a big spiritual growth for me an the Spirit Also testified to me that the ward needs to hear this. Tomorrow I get to go to the Temple for the first time because Thursday's are p-day but not the first Thursday you are here because of orientations and stuff. It's been alot of fun. All my stuff is unpacked, my companion and roommates are nice. The flight was quiet and smooth and I've been getting alot more sleep and I'm feeling great! One thing I would like to know about in the letters is the news and what is happening in the world. And thanks for the package. I got it today. And don't forget to tell the ward of my testimony. Well I have to go to bed now. I love you guy's and tell me how you are doing and what you are up to.

Love Always,

Hello mom and dad~

How are you? I've been having fun. I was just wondering if that list of expense's I had broken down was on the table and if you could send it to me because it will help me budget. Because I've had to buy a Spanish hymn book and language planner. But their is extra expenses here. We get 3 free haircuts. They have dry cleaning but you have to pay for it. We get $6 a week on our blue MTC card they gave us, it's used for multiple purposes like to get into the building and for meals. So they keep track of expense's but we don't pay for meals. I got my name tag's that say Elder Herold today, that was nice. The language can be difficult but it's coming fast. You learn more Spanish here in two day's than two weeks in a High School class. But it's fun. Just let me know how things are going. Tell the ward and branch hi and tell them to write because everybody is getting letters but me. But that's okay. Well it's time for bed and I'll write in a couple of day's again.

Love Always,

Elder Clinton Herold

Dear Mom and Dad,

So there was another missionary on my plane. He was called to Omaha, Nebraska. And it just so happened to be Chris younger brother, Chris was the Elders Quorum president in the Branch. He was actually there to pick up his brother to go to the MTC. So he gave me a ride to the MTC as well which saved me $20 over the shuttle. I wish you guys were here to go thru the farewell they do. You would have loved it. We sang Called to Serve and the second counselor in the MTC spoke. He told us what was going to happen. Then we went thru check in. They had to give me my tetanus shot because it wasn't current enough. It cost $43 but that's okay, my name tag has Herold-Shackelford so I am getting my replacement name tags on Monday. Then we went thru the bookstore they have here at the MTC. And they gave us a Spanish and English Preach My Gospel, Spanish Book, Spanish Dictionary, 2 Daily Year Planners, Spanish Scriptures, Handbook, Missionary Rule Book. They also gave us a card we use it to get into the building, at meals and they put $6 on it a week for treats from the vending machines, we also use it for haircuts, etc. Tonight we had our MTC Presidency meeting and during the opening song the Spirit said to me that this is where I was supposed to be. My companion is great. We're almost like personality's. He's from Idaho. His name is Elder Eldred. He's cool. It's just been a long day. It's 5:50 p.m. and I'm tired. I fell asleep towards the end of the MTC presidency meeting. The food is great. They have soda, milk, juice, cereal and all kinds of food. And you can eat as much as you want. The people here are generally nice. Two Elders helped me carry my bags to my room that's how nice they are. Well I'll write more in a few hours. I have a meeting to go to.

I am back and the Branch president is nice. We have a really nice Branch President and counselors and wives. I get to write letters when I can we have to do it on our p-day's and I'll tell you today was easy but the rest of the time I'm going to be here I'll have hardly anytime for anything. On p-day's I get to email only for 30 minutes and only to family. I'll write letter's when I can so I'll have to have sissy forward the emails for me. Write me and let me know if you need those email address's. So I'll only write sissy for now but when I get yours I'll just write to you and you can send it to sissy. But ya. I'm going to be extremely busy from 6:30 am to 10:30p.m. there will be hardly any free time even our p-day's are scheduled out for us so I'll email sissy and I'll write as much and often as I can. I love you guy's and I'll write and email soon. Also hopefully I can upload those pictures if not I'll have to send them to sissy and swap them. Anyways It's late and I need to prepare for bed. Love you all and you can share this with anyone.

Love Always,

Clinton or Elder Herold
