Hey sis so it has been a good week. My comp has been sick but luckily I haven't gotten anything. So it was an alright week we didn't get to work very hard but it’s getting there. So next week we will have 4 baptisms so it will keep us busy and hopefully 2 more the following week. So we have been busy getting these people ready for baptism. We had a really cool family home evening we had dinner with Diana and her family their all members but her and we shared some scriptures about the atonement and watched one of the clips from the Book of Mormon movie it was good they all liked it. It was about justice and mercy how Christ is necessary for mercy and to fulfill justice. So I should get my package the 24th or 25th of this month because that is when zone conference is in 14 days. So hopefully I will have it then. Also I have pictures for you. So I am sending you 7 pictures hopefully they are new for you. So this is it I really don't have a lot to say for this week. Just that it has been good and today we hung out with the elders from Casilda E'Holden and E'Anderson and we played pool then we went to the pench and played phase 10 and that was the p-day but it was good. So it was a good week we got the standards and we are having a baptism this Saturday. we had the interview yesterday so I am excited for that. Also I have a new email address the church is changing their email program my new address is clinton.herold@myldsmail.net so you will have to write me there. So it was a good week we are with the other elders from our district today for p-day. so it is fun we are going to play some games or something we don’t know yet. So I really don’t have a lot to say just that this week was good it has been going better. So the guy that is getting baptized Hector I guess his interview went way good the Elder that did the interview said when he asked him about Joseph Smith he gave him the whole history that he got the authority to baptize from John the Baptist and the Aronic priesthood. then he went on to tell elder Holden how he got the Melchezidich priesthood elder Holden was blown away he couldn’t believe how much he knew. But hector had asked us questions about those things that is why he knew that stuff so well because we had to go pretty deep to explain it but he understood. So it is cool they also have a son that they want us to work with so maybe we will baptize their son too. also Silvia’s kids are doing good we have been teaching them so they will be getting baptized soon as well and also a girl named Diana will be getting baptized this next month. So it looks like it will be a baptizing transfer. well I will let you go sis I love you and tell everybody I love them and I will write next week.

hey how is it going? It is going good here. it has been raining a lot the last couple of days so it has been a lot cooler which has been nice well I am staying this transfer so I will be here for another 6 weeks with the same comp. so everybody here has said the states have been really cold and a ton of snow but it’s all probably in the east. Well it looks like we will have 5 baptisms this transfer for sure. So that will be fun. So other than that it was a good week. We have been working good with the inactive members and the one branch has a new branch president and he is really good he is helping us a lot. He has been giving us references and doing a lot to help us it is really nice and his branch is growing really well. It helps a lot when you have people that want to help and actually help it helps the missionary work a ton. Well I guess I will let you go I love you guys and I will write next week.

So it was a good week. Today it looks like we will be going to Rosario for a 3 zone activity. It was a pretty good week not a lot exciting. we had district meeting in the pench yesterday because my comp was sick so it was a boring day in the pench. Silvia went to church Sunday but she came in late when they were singing the sacrament hymn so she couldn’t get confirmed she told us that she is going to go to the other branch because she feels more comfortable because this branch has been really cold to her and the other one has been warm. But the important thing is that she goes to church. we aren’t going to have any more baptisms this transfer but it’s all good it is almost over. This transfer next Wednesday is transfer day. So make sure you write Tuesday. Because Tuesday is p-day. Also last p-day I got some new ties they are pretty sweet. But it was a pretty boring week really nothing exciting happened. Except it has been raining a lot so it has been cooler. Well I guess I will let you guys go I love you guys and I will talk to you next week.

Hey - Well I don’t have pictures this week. I don’t have my camera with me it’s in the pench but it is going really good. I think we might have one more baptism this transfer but I am not sure. So it has been going good just working we have been working a lot with the inactive members and it has been going good yesterday we had zone conference it was good they changed it from every 6-8 weeks to having zone conference every month but it was good we talked a lot about working with members which is good there is always more success when we work with the members. We have 2 guys that are really good right now the one brother Cara is for sure going to get baptized maybe not this transfer but the next. His family is members but he isn’t and they just lost one of their sons in a motor cycle accident. A car was going down the wrong side of the road at night without lights. The gas tank blow-up and from what I heard he caught on fire and got burned super bad and he ended up dying from it. It was sad. But he really wants to know the truth and he has a really good wife and daughter who are strong in the church who are helping him a ton it was really cool I think it was Friday night we went to their house to teach lesson 2 The Plan of Salvation and we started and we invited his wife to join us and we started teach and we would ask her for her comments and she would go off and talk about how we started as intelligences which like you never talk about that but he understood and they are really cool she helped a lot. He had the question "well, I was baptized in the Catholic Church- is it valid?" and we went on to say it in a nice way like well their wasn’t authority and the wife jumps in and says " no it is not valid it wasn’t done with authority, with knowledge of what you are doing". She just dropped it and they were going back and forth with each other like he would say well do you go to church all the time. but let me tell you it was in a good way they both had the biggest smiles on their faces when we left they were like kids playing during the lesson but it was really really awesome to see them happy for the first time in weeks. So that is the really cool story I have this week so next week I will send photos. Well I guess I will let you go. Tell everybody I love them and I love you and will talk to you next week.

Congratulations on a new baby boy. I am excited so now I want photos. So all is good then because i am glad. it was a good week here we had a baptism it was really cool but she didn’t go to church because she had problems with the kids and her ex marido oh sorry I am now forgetting English so if I happen to throw in Spanish words I am sorry ex husband kind of they were never married but she said that she is going to church this Sunday so I am happy and we just have great investigators I hope we have another 3-4 baptisms before this transfer ends. This week was good there was a decent amount of people at the baptism and it was pretty. I will have to send photos soon. So yeah we have been just teaching and try to find new people always. It has been hot and I am starting to darken up but it’s a missionary tan. Well I have a challenge for all of you. There are 392 chapters in the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price including the Joseph Smith History and translation of Matthew and the Article of Faith. so ask dad to figure out how many days there is till I get home it’s like 399 from now I should be home around march 2nd. so write this all down because if you start when I have 392 days left and read a chapter a day you will finish the triple by the time I get home so this is my challenge read a chapter a day together or separate but you all have to read no excuses because this way you will be reading the scriptures and you will see how much time I have left. I really want you guys to do it and I know if you will it will bring you all more peace and joy. So I don’t want to hear any excuses you all have to do it no ifs ands or buts all and will write next week.I really don’t know what else to say. Just that it is going good and I love you guys and congratulations and tell everybody I love them and I will write next week.

So how is it going? It has been good here. The new president of the one rama(branch) has already given us 3 references which is really good. He is a good pres. he wants to work and help us more so it will help the work were we are at. so the lady that is supposed to get baptized this week didn’t go to church this Sunday and she didn’t answer her door for the other elders when they came to do the baptismal interview so it looks like next week. Then we have an investigator who is gold. my last comp and I found him one day when it was raining and we taught him then we went back various times and he was never there so we told his wife to tell him that he was invited to church Sunday and he came it was really cool then we passed by during the week and he was studying gospel principles. then he came to church this past Sunday and we went by him Monday and when we were leaving my comp was going to mark a part in the Book of Mormon but before he had the chance the guy told us he already started to read it he was on page 4 but he is really good it makes the work fun. so not a lot happened this week we had zone conference and it was good a lot of talk on numbers but it was good the mission is doing the best it ever has so it is really cool. So hopefully everything goes well with you I have been praying for you. So I don’t have a whole lot left to say. Just I love you and stay strong and I will write you next week and tell everybody else I love them also.

Hey how is it going? so I got a new comp he is from Florida and he is Elder Kite. So it is going good it is always different when you get a new comp but he is alright. So it is going good. We started to work with the inactive members and kids that haven’t been baptized but their parents are members so we have been passing by a lot of people and knocking doors to see if we can find them and to see who they are. The list is a little bit old so some of these kids are adults now but were finding them. Now we need to pass by when they’re there because we have passed by when they’re not there. Next Saturday we are going to have baptism so I am excited. She is really cool and she wants her two daughters to get baptized before my comp and I leave. So I am excited. So the work here is going good. The weather has been really hot I sweat all the time but I am doing good. Today we are just chillin’ and we cleaned the pench and we are just going to relax. This week was kind of boring. We do have a new branch president in one of our branches because we are over 2 and it is for the better. the work will be easier because the old branch pres. lives in another city and my comp and I want to work out there a little because we are over that city also and there is only 2 active members and it was the branch pres. that just got released and there are 75 members that live out their so maybe we start a rama(branch for the English speakers) which would be cool. Other than that nothing. well I don’t have anything else just that I know the Church is true and that we have a Prophet today and that Temples are really important as long as we stay worthy of the blessings of the temple everything will turn out and be okay. I know god has a plan for each and every one of us and everything has a time and place and we just need to be spiritually prepared because there are always going to be tests and challenges but we need to always remember the Lord and give thanks because if we do he will make our burdens light as it says in the scriptures in the Book of Mormon several times. And if we remember Him and pray and read the scriptures and go to church regardless the tests and trials will be shortened so always remember the Savior and that everything we have comes through the atonement. Amen. Well the time is going by really fast I almost have 11 months in the mission. I only have 413 days or so left and only 59 weeks so the time has been going by fast.

Hey everyone how is it going? It is going good here. We have transfers tomorrow and I will be staying and my comp is going to be zone leader in another part of the mission. This will be my 3rd comp that after their transfer with me they have gone up to zone leader. It is kind of cool I joke around that I am a zone leader trainer. My new comp is Elder Kite and I hear he is really good. My comp right now was really good friends with him so I am sure we will get along well. Well I do feel a lot better now I am not sick any more. It is really boring being sick in the mission. So we had a good week none the less we have a lot of people we are working with for this upcoming transfer it looks like we could have a decent amount of baptisms. We have one lady and her 2 or 3 kids that are going to get baptized this month it was cool because they were a reference from a member. Then we have a couple others that want to get baptized it is always easier when you find people that after you teach them they want to get baptized it makes it so much easier and faster. Mainly because they are more willing to read and pray and except our compromises. Also it has been super hot here and it rained yesterday night about or around 5 to 6 inches in like 4 or 5 hours it was a storm that was crazy because that is a ton of water and it has been really humid also. Well I really don’t have anything else just that it was a good week. well I love you guys and I will write you next week.

Hey sis how are you doing. Sorry I didn’t talk to you longer when I had you on the phone after I was done talking to mom and dad I used a different phone card from an elder but it just wouldn’t connect. It was good to hear your voice for at least a few seconds. This week was good we worked really hard and it was good. Having the day off for Christmas was really nice. We ate roast which turned out really good and we had mashed potatoes. Also we played risk all day. also I have been sick for the last few days and we have hardly been able to work Monday we spent all day in the pench I called the presidents wife she is the one we call when we are sick and so I have been doing what she is saying and right now I feel better. Yesterday morning we went out because I felt alright and we contacted a reference and the lady just asked us if she could get baptized and her 2 daughters and we were like of course you can so it was really cool. So at the end of next month we should have 3 baptisms. We have been finding some good people lately which is nice it is our hard work paying off. So this Friday for new years we get to stay in the pench all day so it will be nice to have a break. Well I don’t have a whole lot else to write just I love you and sorry we didn’t get to talk. And tell everybody else I love them and I will write you in 2010. I love you and we will talk next week.

So how is it going it is going? good here. Tomorrow we are going to have a baptism for only one of the kids because the other one was'nt at the appointments so we couldn’t teach him everything so we will baptize him next week so I am really excited. We are working really good my comp and I have gotten the standards 2 weeks in a row now. Those are the goals the mission president has for every companionship so we have been working really good. It was a good week. We had divisions with our district leader and it went good because we had to do the baptism interview and it was fun because you work with someone else for a day and you learn new stuff. our district meeting was fun also we talked about the power and authority we have and how we need to use it more like the missionaries in Alma how they baptized cities we have that same power and authority and we practiced how to invite someone to be baptized more like how it says in preach my gospel and it was really good. This Sunday I have to give a 15-20 min. talk on missionary work so tomorrow i am going to start working on it. It will be fun!!!! also it has still been rainy but I don’t mind because it keeps it from getting hot and when it’s hot it is super humid but what can you do they say this year it is supposed to be more of a tropical summer here. We will see. So today we are going to the Bandera in Rosario it is a really famous monument so it will be cool. I am going to get good photos with me in them. And we might eat at subway so it will be nice it makes you feel at home for a bit. Well not a whole lot happened this week but I love you guys and i will write next week

So how is it? Cold? Well here it has been spring with nice cool not to hot weather. It’s been like the 60's it is really nice but today it is in the 85-90 range hot but it is all good. I am excited to hear the Ducks are going to the rose bowl it has been a long time since they have been to the rose bowl. Thanks for the pictures they were good but it made me a little trunky it reminded me of home a lot. Yesterday we had zone conference with 6 zones because Christmas is coming up and I got to see Elder Scott my first comp Elder Boice my second comp and Elder Eldred my comp from the MTC and a ton of other people and people I don’t know but I have photos so it is good. It was a good conference it was about goals and it was good how we need to work just as hard for our goals during the week as we do Sunday because we usually work harder Sunday because it’s the last day of the week. also we should have 2 to 4 baptisms this transfer to kids are doing really well it looks like next Saturday so it will be exciting and we are working on a couple others but they’re not really solid. and don’t worry about me gaining weight because me and my comp go running almost every day and I am working on toning up to get pecks and a six pack so there! I am going to step off the plane and none of you are going to recognize me because I am going to have a member here adjust my clothes smaller so they fit so I am going to come home with a six pack and looking good so that means you all better start dieting and exercising. But this area I like it is really good and there are a lot of people with more money so it is hard because those people don’t think they need God. Well not a whole lot has happened it has been going good and I don’t have to worry about the heat here because the pench has a.c. so it is awesome. Well I guess I will let you go. So I am in my new area it is called Carcaraña it is about 45 min. outside of Rosario which is really cool. It is about half the size of federal like 10 blocks by 30 so it’s not too big and we are over 2 branches here. They are in the same city. My comp is Elder Johnson and he is really cool. He is from Utah and he is only like 27 days older than me it is pretty funny. So this area is really cool it has a lot of potential so we are working hard and hopefully we will have a few baptisms which I think we will. We have been working good. we are using the area book and going by old investigators so hopefully that helps and we are also looking for new people every day . At district meeting we had to go to Rosario and on the way to the church we had Mc Donald’s and it was really good. The other day also we almost got eaten alive by mosquitoes we had put on repellant but the just swarmed us none of them bit but we had to run to get away from them. So I have pictures today for you. So have fun at the duck game. So the one is of the baptism of Juan the big guy in white and the short guy is my comp elder Carassco and the family the old lady is Angela the other girl is Soledad. Hey how is it going this week was good we had one baptism juan the other kid couldn’t come because he was with his dad but we still had 1 baptism which was cool my comp baptised him. It was a good reward to the end of this transfer. So I’m writing kind of early and I don’t know if I am going or my comp or nada but I will tell you next week. So this week was good in this area we have had a lot of investigators in church which is really cool because when it comes time to baptize them they already have assistants. This area is interesting there are some good members but I think their needs to be a change in this ward there is a lot of pride and not a lot of friendshiping. The second counselor to the mission president spoke in our sacrament meeting and talked about how this ward needs to friendship more they need to greet each other and the bishop rick needs to greet the members and the members need to friendship the investigators of the missionaries. It was a really good talk for this ward but I think a lot of it went in one ear and out the other for them. Well not a whole lot else to talk about so I hope the Ducks win that they beat the Beavers so they can go to the Rose bowl. It is nice to hear the Ducks are doing good. I am just writing to tell you that I am going to Rosario East it is the biggest city in the mission with several million people in Rosario is where the mission home is also well I don’t know the name of the part of the city I will be in and I don’t know who my comp is but i will write you next week with that info. So how is it going? Good here. We will be having 2 baptisms at the end of this week an older guy named Juan and a kid named Bruno. So it will be nice to have baptisms and this time it is for certain because they have had the baptismal interview and everything so I can’t wait. Today for p-day as a zone we watched Remember the Titans and Emma Smith my story they are both really good movies and it was fun to watch them. It’s really fun because you don’t get the opportunity to watch movies very often in the mission. So this week was good we did divisions and I worked with Elder Goodman who only has like 6 weeks in the mission and it was good we actually did good for both being young in the mission which was cool. We taught and did contacts and everything it was cool to see I could do it. And that is about it not a lot happened this week so that’s about it. So how are you I am doing good working and trying to get along with my comp so how are you? So I get to call home in 37 days so how has the Book of Mormon reading been coming along. I am in Second Nephi right now. So I really don’t have anything else so I guess I will let you go tell everybody I love them and I love you and I will talk to you next week I am sorry but I don’t have any photos. So I am doing good I really don’t like my comp that I have but all you have to do is push through it right. So we have some good investigators right now it looks like we will have 5 baptisms. That will be nice. This week was good I forgot the camera so I will make a note to bring it next week but the photos are all on discs so I will have to bring them. Today we went to Wal-mart and I got some BBQ sauce, peanut butter and things like that it should last me a long time I got a good amount of stuff. I bought myself Filet mingon for tonight or the next night. It cost 25 pesos it was less than 10 dollars for 4 which is cheap but meat is cheap here. I also got some salmon for one night just some food I haven’t had in like almost 9 months. But it was nice I got a lot of good food and Wal-mart I love it even more now than before it is like a luxury. Really it is. It is a super Wal-mart so it’s nice. Anyways we have been trying to work better with the ward mission leader but him and his family are difficult-like they say the church is perfect but the members aren’t. But we have a good bishop who served a mission so he understands a lot. He is really cool. He is only like 32 years old. So anyways things are going good there is only 14 days left in this transfer so hopefully I will get transferred or my comp but who knows. I´m doing good. So today we are downtown and we had McDonalds. I broke my 8 and a half month fast. I have a video but I will send pictures next week because we are downtown and I didn’t want to bring all the camera stuff with me and risk losing it. My comp and I are doing good it looks like we will have 5 baptisms. One is an older guy in his 60's and his wife is a member but he is not and he wants to get baptized. The other 4 are girls we teach in the church after seminary with some other youth that are their friends so last night we taught the 4 girls with like 5 youth from the ward and it went really good. I have noticed when the members’ young or old find people and help you teach them it has a huge success rate because they have a friend and it takes the pressure of them when you are teaching when they have a friend there but anyways we have some really good investigators and the work is doing good. I am excited to have baptisms it’s like a prize at the end of the transfer. Oh and 51 days till I get to call! Remember I get to call Christmas. Also remind me to tell you when to call give me a time when you mom and dad are home so I can talk to everybody. Remind mom now everyday to have a time to call for work because I want to talk to all. So how is everybody doing? It is also really nice here this week was super hot 116 degrees to 121 degrees with like 80% to 90% humidity talk about hot you sweat all day and all night it is hard the fan is always blowing on you in the pinch trying to cool you off but it only helps a little. The last 2 days have been really nice it cooled down to like 65 to 70 which were do able. The ward here is really good we are going to start doing divisions with the members to work more in the area. It is really cool the members here really want to work.
